Application Service Providers: who provide remotely hosted applications which can be accessed by users (typically via the internet) in order to use and receive services such as expense management and travel booking services
ATOL

GDS
Global Distribution System: a reservation system that offers access to a wide range of travel inventory and content globally, the principal systems being Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan
IATA

LCC
Low Cost Carrier airlines such as EasyJet and JetBlue
Managed Clients
Clients which tend to be MNCs or large national companies and which are characterised by having sufficient corporate travel expenditure to result in them wishing to manage travellers and expenditure actively and centrally
MICE
Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions
MNC
A multi-national corporation
OTA
An on-line travel agency, such as Expedia, Opodo and Travelocity, whose primary sales are via the internet
SARS
A viral respiratory illness known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
SMEs
Small and medium sized enterprises
SSR
A self service reservation, typically being a flight or hotel reservation made on-line by the travellers themselves (as opposed to by a travel agent or TMC on their behalf) through an on-line tool (an ASP Solution) such as Amadeus eTravel Management or HRG Online
TMC
A travel management company
Unmanaged Clients
Clients of HRG which tend to be SMEs and who do not have a centralised travel policy or centralised management of travel expenditure, who generally take a transaction oriented approach to purchasing corporate travel and who will often procure services from a variety of sources
